After the infamous San Andreas Fault finally gives, triggering a magnitude 9 earthquake in California, a search and rescue helicopter pilot (Dwayne Johnson) and his estranged wife make their way together from Los Angeles to San Francisco to save their only daughter.īut their treacherous journey north is only the beginning. At least Dwayne Johnson will put plenty of butts in the seats. This looks like your standard disaster thriller, so I can't say that I'm all that excited for it. That cover of "California Dreamin'" by Sia (which is different than the more haunting rendition of the same song in the teaser trailer) certainly sets a much more serious tone than we were expecting for the Brad Peyton-directed film.
